LATIN DANCE CONTEST ($200 weekly prize, $2000 Grand Prize)
Latino Heat in the Charterhouse Hotel downtown begins an exciting 8-week long LATIN DANCE CONTEST with a $200 prize each week and a Trip to a Dominican Republic Resort with spending money (approx value $2000). 15/July/03 Winnipeg’s newest, upscale Latin Nightclub, LATINO HEAT, opens this weekend in the Charterhouse Hotel on York. DanceInfo subscribers received advance notice and free passes. If you want to enjoy all the freebies subscribe to the list by e-mailing newsub<at>danceinfo<dot>ca.
The biggest event of the Summer for dancing is surely “Dancing Under The Canopy” every Thursday night at the Forks. Expect to see great shows, great bands, and get some free lessons. Praises go out to Patricia or Patrica’s Dance Studio for her tireless efforts to promote this community wide events. If you see her, be sure to say a big “Thank You” for the work she’s done.
“Shall We Dance” continues filming in Winnipeg. J-Lo Spotting becomes a Summer pastime. For those who don’t know, Ted Motyka’s Studio on McDermot and Main is the unnamed studio where the cast are rehearsing.

5/June/2003 “SHALL WE DANCE” CASTING CALL GOES OUT
When they wanted to contact the dance community for extras in “Shall We Dance” they came to this site.
4/June/2003 - “Shall We Dance”, starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez is being filmed in Winnipeg this Summer. Check the site or subscribe to the newsletter to get up-to-date news on this great classic movie remake. They are also looking for dancers for the movie. I’ll post the information as soon as I have it.
